Attendance to the Tucson Fiddle Contest is free to the public.


The Tucson Fiddle Contest first began in 1941 and is a public event dedicated to celebrating and promoting the  joy of fiddle music. The contest draws participants each year from across Arizona and the United States. The contest is presented as a Cultural Heritage event of the Arizona Old-Time Fiddlers Association, a non-profit organization whose objective is to preserve, promote and perpetuate the art of old time fiddling, to encourage all people, young and old, to develop their musical talents.

Age Divisions:

  • PEE WEE                            0-8 YEARS
  • JUNIOR-JUNIOR               9-14 YEARS
  • JUNIOR                              15-20 YEARS      
  • YOUNG ADULT                 21-40 YEARS
  • ADULT                                41-59 YEARS
  • SENIOR                              60-74 YEARS
  • YOUNG AT HEART           75 YEARS & UP

Specialty Divisions:

  • TWIN FIDDLE                   OPEN TO ALL AGES
  • TRICK & FANCY                OPEN TO ALL AGES
  • ARKANSAS TRAVELER   OPEN TO ALL AGES
